Oatmeal Ice Cream Sammich

After nearly one year of market research, ingredient analysis, product sampling and customer feedback, we are excited to announce Shatto Ice Cream Sammiches. Yep, we said Sammich. They are in stores now.

A Shatto Ice Cream Sammich is a gourmet version of what many think of as ice cream sandwiches. This all natural product line consists of 4 varieties including; chocolate chip cookie and vanilla ice cream, brownie and vanilla ice cream, oatmeal raisin cookie and caramel sea salt ice cream, and sugar cookie with strawberry ice cream. This new product line will be made available the first week of April in many local markets including Hy-Vee’s, Cosentino and McKeever Price Choppers, Whole Foods, Sunfresh, Hen House and a number of other independent grocers.

After sampling many cookies, we chose local Baker Erin Brown, Owner of Dolce Baking Company for the baked goods. Dolce provides all natural gourmet cookies and brownies for this new product line. Dolce is a “from scratch” bakery located right here in the Kansas City area.

This new product is a combination of our super premium all natural ice cream and locally made baked goods from Dolce Baking Company.  Dolce bakes all of their items from scratch using only all natural premium ingredients.  This is truly a 100% locally made product born out of true collaboration. 

The Sammiches come in four varieties, something for everyone.  They are as follows:

The super premium ice cream is Shatto of course, and is all natural made right here on our local family farm. The farm is also where the “cookie meets the ice cream” to form the perfect frozen treat.

We are tremendously excited about this new product line. We have been working on this for almost one full year. The variety that we are offering provides a taste combination that is sure to peak most everyone’s taste buds.

We have sold and sampled ice cream sandwiches to the public over the past 10 months both at the Overland Park Farmers Market as well as at our on farm retail store. We have been amazed at the feedback we have received on these tasty treats over the past ten months and we are very thankful for everyone that provided feedback.

Being a small local family dairy, we do not have the resources to do sampling panels, statistically significant focus groups, etc., we rely solely on our customers to guide our direction and the outcomes associated with our new products. This product line is no exception. It is what it is due to our wonderful customers!

We have found that each has its unique taste and its own group of followers.  We hope you will give them a try and let us know what you think.  They are available in most Hy-Vee’s, Whole Foods, Price Choppers and Hen Houses.  If you do not see them, please request them from Customer Service or the store Mngr.
